Dr. Behrokh Khoshnevis

CHAIRMAN EMERITUS​

Contour Crafting Corporation (CC Corp) was founded by Dr. Behrokh “Berok” Khoshnevis, a pioneer in construction-scale 3D printing and a distinguished academic at the University of Southern California. As Chairman Emeritus, he continues to provide strategic direction and visionary leadership.

Dr. Khoshnevis holds over 100 U.S. and international patents and is recognized as the inventor of Contour Crafting®, a breakthrough technology that initiated large-scale automated construction. His work earned global recognition, including the NASA Grand Prize (2014) and selection among the “25 Best Inventions of the Year” by the National Inventors Hall of Fame. In 2016, his Selective Separation Shaping technology received another NASA Grand Prize.

Under his leadership, CC Corp formed strategic partnerships with leading construction technology firms to commercialize its innovations. Licensed technologies from the University of Southern California continue to evolve through ongoing research, supporting the company’s mission to advance robotics-driven construction on Earth and beyond.

Dr. Reynaldo Santana

PRESIDENT

Dr. Reynaldo A. Santana is a leader in automated construction and large-scale 3D printing, focused on advancing affordable housing and next-generation building systems. As President of Contour Crafting Corporation, he drives the integration of innovative construction technologies with scalable housing solutions. He is also the Founder of ESG Housing Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to developing shelters for underserved communities and co-creator of the first U.S. graduate certification in 3D real estate development.

His work emphasizes housing delivery, labor optimization and resilient infrastructure. Dr. Santana has led complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across government, academia and industry, ensuring effective planning, compliance and execution.

He holds a Master’s from Northeastern University and a Doctorate from Liberty University, is a licensed real estate broker and an active industry contributor. Recognized as a Boston Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree, his mission is to deliver scalable solutions that expand global housing access.

Andreas J. Saar

SENIOR ADVISOR

Andreas J. Saar is a manufacturing engineering expert and strategic advisor with over 35 years of global experience in discrete manufacturing. As Senior Advisor for Additive Manufacturing, he supports companies and startups in shaping technology strategies, product roadmaps and market positioning. He previously served as Vice President of Manufacturing Engineering Solutions at Siemens Digital Industries Software, retiring in 2021.

Throughout his career, Andreas has led global teams and large-scale organizations, specializing in CAD, CAM and PLM solutions. He has driven strategic product development, portfolio planning and the commercialization of advanced manufacturing technologies, enabling organizations to improve productivity and adopt innovative engineering solutions.

He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Technical University of Darmstadt. Andreas also led Siemens’ Additive Manufacturing Program, building an end-to-end ecosystem through strategic partnerships and contributing to international research and industry initiatives.

Dr. Lucio Soibelman

SENIOR ADVISOR

Professor Soibelman holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and a PhD in Civil Engineering Systems from MIT. He spent 10 years in the construction industry before transitioning to academia.

He began his academic career at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, later joining Carnegie Mellon University, where he became a Professor in 2008. From 2012 to 2021, he served as Chair of the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC).

His research focuses on data acquisition, management and analytics for advanced infrastructure systems, with over 200 publications. His work has been funded by organizations including NSF, NASA, DOE and the U.S. Army.

Professor Soibelman is an ASCE Distinguished Member and recipient of multiple awards. He is also affiliated with the National Academy of Construction and holds distinguished academic appointments at USC and Tsinghua University.
