CC-Corp & ICC Collaboration
Contour Crafting Corporation and International Code Council – Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) have started a collaboration with respect to building code compliance for the newly emerged field of construction using 3D printing technology. Currently, there is a need in the construction industry for development of regulations and standard procedures for design, testing, implementation and inspection of 3D printed buildings. CC Corp/ICC ES collaboration aims to address this building code compliance issue and is expected to result in publication of an ICC-ES acceptance criteria and evaluation report for automated layer-based construction of buildings and structures.
Investment from Doka Ventures
Contour Crafting Corporation gets Investment from Doka Ventures, leases 33000+ sq-ft space in El Segundo to start production of construction 3D printers.
The inventor of deployable 3D construction printing, Behrokh Khoshnevis, whose company will start delivery of the first printers next year is joining forces with Doka Ventures, a subsidiary of Austria’s Umdasch Group.
